REV. CORNELL E. TALLEY (my grandfather) PT. 2

In October 1961 Rev. Talley accepted a leadership role at New Light Baptist Church in Detroit Mi.  After 23 yrs. pastoring Central Baptist Church, he moved his family to Detroit.

From my research my grandfather was a very influential leader in religion & politics. He led his church family into the building of a New Light Nursing Home (of which my Uncle Cornell worked until his untimely death), my dad administered there until retiring in 2012.  And my grandmother was well cared for there until she passed in 2007.  She was 95 yrs. old!
Under his leadership New Light totally supported a high school in Ewohimi, Nigeria, West Africa.  He also learned Hebrew and Greek while studying at the University of Chicago!

The more I learn about him, the more I discover more of myself.  O' how it would have been wonderful to have known him!
